Second Battle of Dalton
Beginning on 1864/08/14 and ending 1864/08/15
On August 14, Confederate General Joe Wheeler´s men capture Dalton, GA, but they are unable to defeat the Union garrison commanded by Maj. Gen. James B. Steedman protected in a nearby fort. On August 15, Wheeler heads in to eastern Tennessee.
