Native Americans in Roswell Marker

Text:

Prior to the Cherokees, Roswell was also home to the Creek and other prehistoric Native Americans. The Creek and Cherokee fought over the land during the mid-eighteenth century. The Creek were defeated and moved south of the Chattahoochee River, which became, in places, the border between the two Indian Nations. There is also archaeological evidence would suggest that a prehistoric (8000-6000 B.C.) Indian village was located if the current site of the Fulton County pumping station.
