Text:

This cottage was built by the youngest brother of John D. Rockefeller (1841- 1922), one of the millionaire members of the Jekyll Island Club. Built about 1900, it was called ´Indian Mound´ because of its adjacency to the old Indian Mound, believed to be the burial mound of the Guale Indians, of Muskhogean stock, who were the earliest inhabitants of Jekyll Island.
