Prize-Winning Newspapers

Since the founding of Columbus in 1828, newspapers have played a vital role in the lives of area citizens. Both daily papers, "The Columbus Enquirer-Sun" (now "The Columbus Enquirer") and "The Columbus Ledger," are Pulitzer Prize-winning publications. This prize, considered the most coveted award that an American newspaper can receive, was given to the "Enquirer-Sun" in 1926 and to "The Ledger" in 1955.
