Text:

Commissioner`s Rock, 6 miles west, on the road to Rabun Bald, is one of the few surviving original markers on the Georgia North Carolina line. Timothy Terrell, surveyor for Georgia, and Robert Love, surveyed this portion of the line in 1819. Recent surveys show that Commissioner`s Rock is 1,390 feet south of the true 35th parallel, which was to have been the northern boundary of Georgia.
