Text:

As an activity, art is as old as humankind. It has a heritage of several thousand years.

Modern art both challenges and stimulates the creative imagination, expanding our intellectual horizons, and deepening our emotional responses to life's possibilities.
John Henry sees Complexus as being Sarasotas specific.

His sculpture now placed on our bay front honors a cultural jewel of a City, the spirit of which reaches out to all the arts, the participants of the arts community and its magnificent world class arts institutions and its artists.

Complexus is intended to signify commitment to the creative component
in life, which makes Sarasota unique among towns across our nation.

From this day forward, let us look up at Complexus and let our minds soar with excitement and wonder of creativity and the role it plays it plays in the lives of us all.
John Henry / November 7th 2012
