bridge Near here on the night of October 25, 1780, Col. Francis Marion with 150 men surprised and completely routed 200 Tories under Col. Samuel Tynes. Marion´s forces suffered no casualties. With the dispersion of Tynes´s troops, Lord Cornwallis became apprehensive of losing British supplies on the Santee River.
