Construction of the Nashville & Decatur railroad and the partial burning of old Lynnville (Waco) by Federal troops brought this charming town to its present location after the Civil War. The Lynnville National Register Historic District (1988) contains 50 buildings, with architectural examples for each period of the town’s development from the 1860s through the early 1900s.
